"SECURE FLIGHT" PROGRAM

PLEASE REMEMBER TO COMPLY WITH THE PROGRAM MANDATE.

To ensure that the Secure Flight compliance mandate does not inconvenience your clients or result in costly ADMs for your agency, Alitalia reminds all agents to please always follow the procedures for Secure Flight compliance. Please see our debit memo policy.

Visit TSA website for detailed information on the Secure Flight program for US passengers, or CATSA website for detailed information on the Secure Flight Program for Canada passengers.

WHAT IS SECURE FLIGHT?

• Secure Flight is a program developed by DHS (Department of Homeland Security) and TSA (Transportation Security Administration).
• The Secure Flight program has been established as a supplement of all the other US security programs, like API and ESTA, which remain in effect.
• The Secure Flight program applies to all passengers traveling from/to and within United States.
• Secure Flight's mission is to enhance security controls as a measure to prevent and hinder terrorism, through passenger pre-screening and improve watch list matching, authorizing or denying boarding.
• The Secure Flight program requires that Secure Flight Passenger Data (SFPD) is collected for all passengers who book and buy tickets for travel from/to or within US.
- Passenger's Full Name (as it is read on a valid travel document)
- Date of Birth
- Gender
- Redress Number (if available as previously communicated by US authority)

HOW DO YOU COMPLY WITH THE PROGRAM?

• Insert SFPD in the passenger record (PNR) when a booking is made.
• Create SSR DOCS preferably using the name related format instead of flight related format. This would eliminate the need to re-associate the SSR to a new flight when re-issuing a ticket or changing the reservation.

Sample GDS inputs follow - please note correction from previous communication. We recommend that you check with your GDS helpdesk for the most up-to-date inputs.
SABRE: 3DOCS/DB/13DEC60/M/ROBINSON/GARY/D-1.1
AMADEUS: SRDOCS AZ HK1-13DEC60-M-ROBINSON-GARY-H/P1
APOLLO: 3DOCSN1-1/////24JUL57/F//WEENIE/MARGENIE
WORLDSPAN: 3SSRDOCSYYHK1/////16FEB59/M//TEST/TRUE/T-1.1

• Before issuing the ticket verify that SFPD is correctly inserted in SSR DOCS.
• Remind the client when issuing the ticket that ESTA procedure is still valid when entering US.
• IMPORTANT! Check all Alitalia (AZ) PNRs in queue and call back all passengers with tickets from/to US who did not provide SFPD, then insert SFPD in the PNR.

WHAT ARE ALITALIA'S OBLIGATIONS?

• As requested by the TSA, Alitalia will collect and insert SFPD in passenger records (PNR) and send the SFPD to the TSA with the following frequencies:
- 72 hours before departure for all ticketed PNRs
- At ticket issuance if it is within 3 days from departure

WHAT WILL ALITALIA DO TO ENSURE ADHERENCE TO THE PROGRAM?

• Alitalia will monitor all bookings to/from US
• IMPORTANT! All non-compliant bookings will be sent to your Travel Agency queue with following SSR: SSROTHS-XY///. PLS INSERT SSR DOCS FOR SECURE FLIGHT PROGRAM.

WHAT HAPPENS IF SFPD IS NOT PRESENT IN PASSENGER PNRS?

Alitalia requires agents to enter SFDA for all passengers traveling on or after Oct 11, 2010; all pnrs lacking the SFDA will generate an ADM. From November 1, 2010, if SFPD is not inserted in PNRS, ADMs will be generated and travel may be seriously hindered:

• Passengers may experience a prolonged embarkation procedure.
• Embarkation authorization may be denied.
• Travel may be subject to a cost increase due to fare adjustment.
