Secure Flight Program: DOCS

The TSA requires that we transmit passenger data for clients traveling to and from the USA. In order to issue a ticket, following data is required:

  • Last name / First name as it appears on passport
  • Birth date
  • Gender
  • Redress number if available

Sabre Ancillary Services

Sabre Travel Network, a global technology company serving travel agencies and suppliers, has signed a multi-year agreement with Alitalia to sell its ancillary products to Sabre travel agents in the USA, Spain, UK, Belgium, Greece, Poland, Romania, Israel, Turkey, and from other countries to follow, starting from, September 20th.

Alitalia is already selling its ancillaries with Sabre GDS in Italy from August, 28th.

In addition to ticket sales, Sabre customers, based in the USA, are now able to offer clients additional services including excess baggage, sporting equipment and select VIP lounge access*, which can be sold either at the time of ticket purchase or any time prior to flight departure.

Thanks to this agreement, through the issuance of an Electronic Miscellaneous Document (EMD), Alitalia's ancillary services may be sold with the same efficiency as airline tickets, while also providing travelers with complete transparency as they can see the total cost of the fare and extras.

Travel partners using Sabre can now automatically sell ancillary products and services during the booking process, offering improved levels of customer service and revenues.

Travelport: Worldspan & Apollo Ancillary Services

US based travel agents using Travelport GDS will now be able to sell ancillary services via the GDS Travelport; in the US, Travelport is distributed as Apollo (1V) and Worldspan (1P).

This means that in addition to ticket sales, agents in the US using Apollo and Worldspan are now able to offer clients additional paid services on Alitalia - including excess baggage fees, the booking of sporting equipment and select VIP lounge access - which can be sold either at the time of ticket purchase or any time prior to flight departure.

Services are sold through the issuance of an Electronic Miscellaneous Document (EMD), which allows for efficiency and transparency, as travelers are able to see the total cost of the fare and extras.
